Fine Mapping and Candidate-Gene Analysis of an open glume multi-pistil 3 (mp3) in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

چکیده
The rice mutant mp3 was derived from an indica–japonica cross between Rejing35 and XieqingzaoB, producing inconstant number of pistils ranging one to four in a floret at heading stage, which also developed open-glume with or two seeds twin seedlings mature seedling stage. Several altered characteristics, including filling grain panicle–1 (62.90), grain-setting rate (60.48%) yield plant–1 (13.42 g), decreased but increase 1000-grain weight (36.87 g) observed. Genetic analysis revealed that the phenotype controlled by single recessive gene. Using chromosome walking strategy F2 population 02428/mp3, gene fine mapped L3-135 RM7576, physical distance 30.617 kb on 3. Four candidate genes were found this region referred genome annotations. LOC_Os03g11614/OsMADS1 corresponded phenotype. Sequencing showed no sequence alterations coding promoter mp3. may be allelic three previously reported different floral organ phenotypes rice. Therefore, provided novel perspective biological function OsMADS1 development organ.

Genetic analysis and gene fine mapping of aroma in rice (Oryza sativa L. Cyperales, Poaceae)
We investigated inheritance and carried out gene fine mapping of aroma in crosses between the aromatic elite hybrid rice Oryza sativa indica variety Chuanxiang-29B (Ch-29B) and the non-aromatic rice O. sativa indica variety R2 and O. sativa japonica Lemont (Le). The F1 grains and leaves were non-aromatic while the F2 non-aroma to aroma segregation pattern was 3:1. The F3 segregation ratio was c...
متن کاملFine Mapping and Candidate Gene Analysis of qSTL3, a Stigma Length-Conditioning Locus in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)
The efficiency of hybrid seed production can be improved by increasing the percentage of exserted stigma, which is closely related to the stigma length in rice. In the chromosome segment substitute line (CSSL) population derived from Nipponbare (recipient) and Kasalath (donor), a single CSSL (SSSL14) was found to show a longer stigma length than that of Nipponbare. The difference in stigma leng...
متن کاملGenetic analysis and fine mapping of a semi-dwarf gene in a centromeric region in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Superior plant architecture is a key means of enhancing yield potential in high yielding varieties. A newly identified recessive gene, named sd-c, controls plant height and tiller number. Genetic analysis of an F2 population from a cross between the semi-dwarf mutant and japonica cv. Houshengheng showed that the sd-c locus was flanked by SSR markers RM27877 and RM277 on chromosome 12. Thirty ni...
متن کاملCharacterization and fine mapping of thermo-sensitive chlorophyll deficit mutant1 in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Chlorophyll content is one of the most important traits controlling crop biomass and economic yield in rice. Here, we isolated a spontaneous rice mutant named thermo-sensitive chlorophyll deficit 1 (tscd1) derived from a backcross recombinant inbred line population. tscd1 plants grown normally from the seedling to tiller stages showed yellow leaves with reduced chlorophyll content, but showed n...
متن کاملSSR mapping of brown planthopper resistance gene Bph9 in Kaharamana, an Indica rice (Oryza sativa L.).
The brown planthopper (BPH) is one of the most serious insects pests of rice, and the host resistance has been recognized as one of the most economic and effective measures for BPH management. In this study, we conducted a molecular-based genetic analysis of Bph9 in Kaharamana, a Sri Lanka rice variety resistant to BPH insects of East and Southeast Asia. An F2 segregating population composed of...
